Makeda is passionate about plants, using them to heal the body and mind, whether it is through herbal medicine or food, she appreciates their visual beauty and intricacies, whilst using their aroma therapeutically. She is an outdoor person, connecting with and having fun with the elements. From the days of being a girl guide (camping, canoeing, raft building and singing by a camp fire) with the 9th Clapham Park, to gardening with her dad at their home in Clapham; sowing seeds of tomatoes, marrow, runner beans and apple trees, to picking and infusing home grown peppermint for the odd tummy ache.
From an early age, Makeda has been fascinated by nature, the workings of the human body and connecting to a global frequency. This gave her the maturity to question the use of steroids prescribed to treat her severe teenage and later adult acne, by seeking alternative natural remedies. This experience acted as the catalyst in her developing a new interest in a natural food lifestyle, diet, and the use of alternative therapies to support the body’s healing system.
Most mornings you will find her near a tree, meditating, journaling, giving thanks. She currently lives in South London with her three creative daughters and granddaughter, all of whom remind her constantly how to ‘stay connected’ to her own creativity. She is also an avid traveller, this year she has been to California and Jamaica, researching and stretching her work and developing new business models. Her youthful, radiance and outlook she chalks up to ‘walking her talk’, cleansing regularly, practicing mindful gratitude and developing an intimate understanding of her own evolution.
Makeda is an intuitive therapist, it is her natural gift to help, her comforting personality will help reveal any dis-ease and support you in the natural recovery to restorative health and wellbeing.
